Chocolate-filled Croissants
INGREDIENTS
2 ounces high-quality chocolate
1 package crescent rolls
1 large egg yolk
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons turbinado sugar
(you can use caster or superfine sugar if you prefer)
DIRECTIONS
*Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees
*Cut the chocolate into 4 strips about ½ inch wide and 2 ½ inches long.
*Unfold the crescent roll dough (you can use bakery-fresh croissants if you prefer. Make a slit in
the side the slide the chocolate in).
*Place one piece of chocolate at the wide end of each piece of dough and roll it up.
*Mix the egg yolk and milk in a small bowl and brush gently on top of each roll.
*Sprinkle each roll with sugar and place 1-2 inches apart on parchment paper lined baking sheet
*Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
*Let cool 3-4 minutes before eating (so the very hot chocolate won’t burn your tender tongue!).
